February 12, 2010: 2010 Fil-Am Slate (from the Prez)
All,
The nomination process for the FilAm has come and gone and like most years the field of nominees willing to accept a position is narrow. So narrow this year in fact that all positions are running unopposed. To that end what I propose rather than an election is an acceptance of the slate unless there is an objection. Objections should be sent to Ron Wines and myself along with the rationale for objection so that it can be brought to the membership. If there are no unresolved objections by the 28th of February then the slate will go forward and the 2010 officers will take their places on March 1st. Below is the current slate. There are seven board members listed and we normally have five, but after speaking with Rhoel on accepting the nomination for president he asked that seven be seated this year. I see no problem with this as it gives a broader decision base among the elected officials.

January 18, 2010: 2010 Fil-Am Elections (from the Prez)
Hello All,
It is hard to believe that a year has come and gone but here we are in 2010. March is election month for the FilAm and to that end the nomination process needs to be done first. Nominations are needed for all officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, three or five board members depending on the nomine pool. Nominees must be at least 18 years of age and willing to serve a one year term of office.
Nominations need to be sent to Ron Wines at either of these addresses:

beggs@md.metrocast.net orRon and I will contact all nominees and determine their willingness to serve and put the ballot slate together for voting. Nominations are open from now until the 31st of January. The ballot will be made available by email in the first week of February for voting. All ballots need to be sent to Ron and myself for counting. Voting will close on 15 February. The winners of the election will be announced immediately upon the votes being counted and the new officers will take office on 1 March 2010.
